Coding Specialist I, II

The (SCF) Coding Specialist is responsible for reviewing and assigning accurate medical and behavioral codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services performed by qualified healthcare providers in office setting. The Coding Specialist is proficient in coding services, including E/M, surgery, radiology, behavioral, medical and/or dental procedures.

Has knowledge of dental and/or medical coding guidelines, including compliance and reimbursement. Has knowledge of (CPT), (HCPCs), and (ICD-10) as well as knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology necessary to code provider diagnosis and services. Two (2) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible work experiences.

Progression in job levels is based on ability to successfully handle more responsible tasks.
