Mechanical Engineer – Hospital Facilities

Location: Enfield, EN2 8JL Pay Rate: £26.30 per hour (Umbrella) Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off, 8:00am – 8:00pm Contract: Temporary assignment from 6th July 2026 to 1st September 2026 We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a facilities management team supporting a major hospital site in Enfield.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer with experience in building services, healthcare facilities or commercial maintenance environments.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant and equipment Responding to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs to mechanical systems Maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning and water systems Ensuring statutory compliance and accurate maintenance records are maintained Assisting with plant inspections and operational checks Working closely with the wider engineering and facilities teams Adhering to all health, safety and site-specific procedures Requirements: Previous experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within facilities management, healthcare, commercial or industrial environments Relevant mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent) Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Good understanding of health and safety procedures Ability to work independently and as part of a team What's on Offer: £26.
