PRN Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Village Caregiving - Iowa City, IA. While our branch office is located in Iowa City, this role primarily serves clients throughout the Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas . The position offers highly flexible PRN hours with competitive compensation of $60 per hour (for up to 2 hours per in-home assessment).

Responsibilities

• Visit clients and Veterans in their homes for meaningful, one-on-one visits.

• Complete initial admissions, 90-day reassessments, and ongoing evaluations to identify physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.

• Perform in-home safety evaluations and observe the home environment.

• Develop individualized care plans that provide caregivers a clear blueprint for safe, relationship-centered care.

• Educate patients and families on home health strategies and recommend helpful medical devices or tools.

• Communicate proactively with clients, families, team members, and the Executive Director.

• Complete VA Nurse Assessment documentation on a supplied tablet the same day as the visit.

• Track and report completed assessments to the Executive Director at the end of each pay period.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa.

• Previous nursing experience in the home care setting preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
