Veterinary Assistant

Your Role

Working under the direction of our veterinary team, you will: Assist with examinations, treatments and surgical procedures. Gather patient histories and take vital signs. Collect blood samples and support laboratory sample collection, processing and testing. Obtain diagnostic radiographs using appropriate positioning and safety procedures.

Assist with ear cytology, cleaning and treatment preparation. Keep clients informed and reinforce the veterinary team’s guidance on medications, home care and post-treatment instructions. Maintain clean, organized examination and treatment areas. We’re looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our experienced, close-knit team in San Francisco.

You’ll use your practical skills to support patient care, help clients feel informed and reassured, and work alongside colleagues who enjoy what they do. Our team includes longstanding colleagues with up to 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine and at Presidio Way. It’s a place to contribute your skills, learn from others and build strong working relationships.

What You Can Expect at Presidio Way: A structured four-day working week, with four 10-hour shifts, rotating Saturdays and scheduled hours of 7:30 am–6 pm. A varied clinical environment, supporting primary care, emergency cases, surgery and dentistry. Facilities that support patient care, including surgical and dental suites, diagnostic facilities and specialized equipment.
