Job Overview: We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated Class 2 HGV Drivers to join our growing logistics team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery and collection of plant machinery/materials to and from construction sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
Safely load, secure, transport and offload plant machinery and equipment Conduct vehicle and load safety checks prior to departure Deliver and collect plant across various client sites in a timely manner Maintain accurate paperwork and delivery records Comply with all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies Represent M O’Brien Plant Hire professionally at all times with clients and site staff Liaise with the transport office regarding schedules and instructions Report any vehicle defects, incidents or delays promptly Requirements: Valid UK Class 2 driving licence Valid CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence) Valid Tachograph (Digital Driver Card) Experience transporting plant, construction equipment, or similar loads ( Required) Knowledge of load securing and operation of Beavertail/trailers Strong understanding of health & safety and transport compliance Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative Flexibility with start times and occasional overnight stays if required Desirable: NPORS, or CPCS qualification for loading/unloading plant (advantageous) Experience working in construction logistics or with a plant hire company Knowledge of route planning and satellite navigation systems
