Job Summary

The Jingxin Wang’s lab within the Section of Genetic Medicine, Department of Medicine, an NIH-funded laboratory focused on RNA-targeting early drug discovery for undruggable targets, is seeking a full-time Research Technician.

Responsibilities

Perform routine RNA-seq library preparation on a biweekly basis. Maintain multiple mammalian and cell culture lines. Manage lab inventory and instrumentation. Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project. Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.

Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field. Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Certifications: --- Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.

Experience: Relevant research experience. Preferred Competencies Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office). Knowledge of research techniques and methods. Ability to work with little direct oversight. Ability to work within a larger research team. Attention to detail. Biochemistry lab skills (e.g., buffer preparation, pipetting, PCR).

Organizational and time-management skills.
