
Job description
We are looking for an experienced Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our supportive team at Medivet Chorley 24 Hour Hospital . This is a permanent sole charge role , ideal for a confident vet who thrives in emergency and critical care and is comfortable managing cases independently. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality out-of-hours care across the region, with a varied caseload including emergency procedures such as caesareans, GDVs, and acute medical cases .
You’ll be supported overnight by an experienced RVN and Twilight VCA , ensuring strong clinical and patient care support. Our hospital is well-equipped and spacious , featuring six consult rooms, two theatres, large wards, and modern facilities including multi-parameter monitoring, endoscopy, ultrasound (with virtual specialist support), and orthopaedic and laparoscopic equipment .
We are also happy to support development and funding for the right candidate. This role offers a fantastic work–life balance with a 7pm–9am, 5 on / 10 off rota , giving you plenty of time to recharge while maintaining strong ECC exposure. Based in Chorley , you’ll enjoy a great mix of countryside and connectivity, with easy access to the West Pennine Moors, Manchester, and Liverpool .
