Within the framework of the Virbac Commercial Department, the position is responsible for the achievement of gross sales budget through the dynamic management of a nominated sales area in line with the Virbac culture, whilst fostering a professional and positive relationship with distribution partners, key accounts, and industry key influencers.
Responsible for the management of expense (travel, maintenance and mobile phone) budgets in the designated area. Areas of Responsibilities: Sales Performance Main Activities: ● Achieve the gross sales budget for the year
- Maintain regular face to face meetings with Veterinarians, Vet Nurses and Frontshop staff as per company guidelines
- Optimise sales and profits through implementation of marketing plans and campaigns as per Business Unit strategy,for the assigned area
- Proactively present business opportunities for the designated area
- Present recommendations that may improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business unit.
- Demonstrate ownership of results within areas of responsibility and hold self accountable for decisions and results achieved.
- Attend and represent Virbac at industry conferences and seminars in line with the Business Unit Strategy.
- Utilise Marketing tools provided to keep in line with the Business Unit Strategy Business Planning Main activities: ● Develop and implement a compelling area business plan to be presented at sales conference as predetermined by manager ● Update weekly planner on CRM, detailing clients to be visited and products to be discussed ● Segmentation of customers in the designated area, in classification of A,B and C as per Business Unit guidelines ○ A – Virbac loyal customer as well as high turnover potential customer ○ B – Customer with medium turnover not loyal to Virbac ○ C – Customer with low potential and low turnover with Virbac ● Identify growth opportunities and strategies to implement to assist in the achievement of the total company budget. Contribute to the company’s database by management of client complete details (e mail, phone number, practice name, veterinarian name and GPS coordinates) ● Participate and contribute positively to team meetings Report Adverse Drug Reactions and product complaints correctly Main activities: ● Ensure that all ADR's and PQC's are completed correctly and accompanied by the patient history record ● Ensure that in the case of a vaccination ADR, the patient history as well as vaccination card is provided ● Ensure that all ADR forms are submitted electronically to the Technical Product Manager and Business Unit Manager within 48 hours of receiving the complaint. To demonstrate effective business planning and implementation of plans to maximise potential of the area in line with Virbac strategies Main activities: ● Submission of a weekly planner on a monthly basis to direct supervisor detailing clients to be visited and product to be discussed
- CRM ● Submission of annual business plans at year end to CA Business Unit Manager ● Launch new products in the market by utilizing marketing material provided ● Launch new products in the market by face to face detailing ● Launch marketing actions in line with the BU marketing plans To develop and maintain the required competencies and skills relevant to the job title Main Activities: Attendance of Sales Conferences as decided by Virbac RSA HQ Achieve an 80% pass rate on written product knowledge tests Keep up to date with peer review articles as well as technical detail aids Keep up to date with skills to enhance sales processes Requirements (Diploma and experience): Veterinary University Degree or Veterinary Nursing Diploma/Degree or 5 Years Veterinary pharmaceutical sales experience Marketing Diploma/Degree and/or SAAHA accreditation will be an advantage Skills: Technical product knowledge Professional Selling Skills Afrikaans and English languages Financial knowledge in order to manage sales and expense budgets Negotiation skills Computer Literacy G Suite Virbac provides numerous career opportunities, thanks to the diversity of its jobs and their international dimension.
