Underwriting Specialist

Analyze property values, construction details, occupancy, and exposure to hazards to determine appropriate coverage and pricing. Manage a diverse portfolio of property insurance policies, ensuring effective risk selection, pricing adequacy, and profitability. Collaborate with claims teams to review and analyze claims data, identify patterns, and incorporate insights into underwriting decisions and risk management strategies.

Employer will accept 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a Underwriting Specialist-related occupation. Property insurance and cat modeling analysis. Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously on all but the most complex accounts and cases. Underwriting policies within underwriting authority.

Demonstrated ability to make decisions on whether to accept business by making analytical, data-driven decisions based on data and information provided, including pricing the risk. Managing own portfolio of brokers and agents and clients. Leveraging market presence and knowledge to bring in new business where possible.

Experience in the insurance and re-insurance industries in Latin American markets.
