Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Responsibilities
The Scheduler arranges appointments for surgical and non-surgical procedures along with pre-surgical testing for various specialties. Schedules surgeries and procedures for all specialties. Coordinates all required testing and procedures. Ensures all required pre-testing, patient information, and consents have been obtained and are on-site before the patient’s admission to the hospital.
Demonstrates good judgment in scheduling procedures to both meet patient needs and increase physician productivity. Acts as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patients’ family members in a compassionate and kind manner.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Understanding and use of Electronic Health Record (EMR) Strong knowledge of medical terminology and attention to detail. Preferred Job Requirements: Associate’s degree. Certified Scheduling Technician (CST). 1+ years’ experience in a hospital or physician practice setting. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
