JOB SUMMARY
& RESPONSIBILITIES The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the quality of aircraft, engine, and avionics maintenance and repair. This team member is also responsible for establishing schedules for periodic inspections, general overhaul, repairs, and modifications. This is an on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD .
Responsibilities include
Ensuring safe maintenance and line operations Ensuring the quality of aircraft, engine, and avionics maintenance and repair Assisting with preparation of short- and long-range plans Establishing schedules for periodic inspections, general overhaul, repairs, and modifications Coordinating all aircraft maintenance work Ensuring that all work is completed before the final inspection of outsourced maintenance Overseeing quality controls Ensuring that all test equipment is calibrated and maintained Evaluate compliance of all Service Bulletins (SBs) and Airworthiness Directives (ADs) to determine applicability Performing inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of parts on the aircraft, as able Maintaining shop and hangar tools and equipment Establish and maintain maintenance manual library and revision status Establishing and maintaining records as required by FARs, manufacturers, and company policy Monitoring these records, if maintained by an outside agency Establishing maintenance safety rules and procedures Establishing spares and ground support equipment inventories Helping provide efficient and timely scheduling of all maintenance and repair Directing compliance of minimum equipment list (MEL) maintenance procedures Must be detail-oriented and maintain the cleanliness of the aircraft during maintenance activities.

QUALIFICATIONS
& SKILLS Must have an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate and an Inspection Authorization (IA). An Associate’s degree is recommended, but not required. Must have practical experience as an active aircraft maintenance technician with experience in the type of aircraft assigned Having completed manufacturer's training in the company's aircraft and powerplant is recommended but not necessary.
Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change. You know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite. You’re capable of learning new programs. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE A high level of personal integrity Interpersonal skills – the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels within/outside the organization Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills The ability to embrace and promote change An innovative mindset The ability to think objectively Self-awareness in the face of uncertainty The ability to work in a team environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT This role has some physical requirements that our team members will need to be able to perform, such as: Position requires physical exertion such as pulling pushing reaching bending standing walking and light lifting of boxes bags and electronic equipment not in excess of 80 lbs.
Occasionally working in confined spaces. Occasionally lifting weights of eighty (80) pounds or less. Climbing flights of stairs and ladders. Exposure to mechanical engines. Occasionally bending, twisting, and turning while lifting weights of less than fifty (50) pounds. Data entry while seated for greater than one (1) hour.
Walking of two (2) or more miles per day. Pushing brooms, shovels, etc. Working at heights, in confined spaces, and at temperatures from -20 to +100 degrees. Standing for extended periods of time. Elevated work maybe required. This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding of company policy, procedures, and values.
Team members will be required to adhere to all safety requirements in all work environments. This position operates in an aircraft loft environment. In this environment, the team member may be exposed to noise, heat, and other elements both inside and outside. While performing the duties of this position, the team member will be exposed to moving, mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, internal and external temperature/weather conditions, and exposed to chemicals and gasoline.
Long periods of sitting with exposure to bright sunlight. Airport ramp operations are noisy and can be hazardous without due caution. In this role, you’ll be asked to drive a POET vehicle. A motor vehicle record check will be conducted during the preemployment process and yearly thereafter. Due to the physical and safety-sensitive nature of this job, you will be subject to a physical and expected to pass a drug screen during the pre-screen process.
