Occupational Therapist (OT) - Acute Care - PRN

Job Summary

Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition and establishes a plan of care. Provides therapeutic interventions appropriate to the age and disability of the patient. Documents delivery of Occupational Therapy services. Educates patients, family, caregivers, significant others, and staff members. Directs and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students, and support personnel.

Promotes physical rehabilitation services through community/system based education activities, marketing opportunities, and support groups. Accepts the role of a Clinical Instructor to supervise/educate students from accredited occupational therapy and occupational therapy assistant programs. Participates in planning for the provision of patient care services.

Provides staff in-service upon returning from continuing education or professional conferences.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an AOTA approved occupational therapy assistant education program; successful completion of the certification process for Occupational Therapy Assistant. Experience Preferred but not required (Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience) Licensure/Certification Licensed or eligible for licensure, or temporary licensure, as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Examiners.

Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
