Job Location: Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara Overview Minor Hotels is an international hotel owner, operator and investor, currently with a diverse portfolio of over 530 properties designed intelligently to appeal to a variety of travellers, serving new passions as well as personal needs. To provide operational leadership with a goal of achieving 100% customer satisfaction while ensuring consistency operating standards. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing the Marine operation & fleet of 50 seated Catamaran’s, Patrol boats and Pontoon boat.
- Providing training to Boat Skippers, Crews and Marine Hostess
- Rostering, leave management and performance record of Boat captains, Crews & Marine Hostesses
- Inspecting the seaworthiness of all vessels
- Ensuring navigation/communication equipment are in operational condition
- Implementing & monitoring proper grooming and hygiene standards for Skippers, Boat Crew & Marine Hostesses as per company standard
- Making inventory and replenishment of all consumable items
- Keeping records of boat equipment and tools
- Tracking and monitoring all vessels
- Keeping records of all boat maintenance (mechanical, electrical, navigation and electronic equipment’s)
- Ensuring boat schedules are carried out as per Company’s standard
- Ensuring all vessels are cleaned and maintained as per set standards without fail at all times
- Main contact for entire boat operations
- Ensuring all boat assets are mechanically safe and clean
- Conducting safety drills and rescue, including sea trials
- Assessing and making decisions during bad weather condition
- Carrying out minor boat repairs
- Liaises with local authorities and coordinating with third party companies regarding repair and maintenance of all vessels such as:
- Antifouling
- Hull cleaning
- Dry docking
- Proper disposal of backwater and grey water
- Boat engine and generators periodic maintenance
- Air-conditioning equipment
- Safety equipment
- Distress kits
- Boat retrieval and rescue
- Coordinating with the coastguard and port authorities
- Coordinating with the engine/boat supplier Qualifications - 7-10 years Solid marina/marine background.
- Mandatory sailing experience as for luxury yacht or Cruise line
- Effective navigation experience
- Completion of International Maritime Organization (IMO) certifications is a mandatory requirement.
- Has a valid license of the following: Boat driving Diving
- Any other marine/marina certification (CMM & AMMC/IMM)
- Familiar with the navigation charts in Middle east specially in Qatar and borders
- Familiar with navigation routes to other marinas in Qatar
- Well versed in Maritime rules and regulation
