About The Opportunity

Comprehensive Mobile Care (CMC) is seeking a Part-Time Optometrist (OD) to deliver high-quality vision care across multiple New Mexico communities. This is a clinic-based role where you’ll function as an extension of established outpatient teams serving senior populations.

If you’re looking for meaningful, mission-driven work with schedule consistency — without the overhead of running your own practice — this opportunity offers flexibility, autonomy, and full administrative support.

Travel Expectations

This is a traveling optometrist role. Candidates must be comfortable driving up to 4 hours to assigned clinic locations, which may include some or all of the following regions:

Albuquerque

Santa Fe

Farmington

Gallup

Taos

Las Cruces

Roswell

Mileage reimbursement is provided.

The Setting

This opportunity operates within a community-based outpatient clinic model:

Full-time clinic staff on-site

Organized scheduling and patient flow

Coordinated, team-based care environment

Value-based model focused on seniors

CMC manages equipment, supplies, scheduling, and billing — allowing you to focus entirely on delivering high-quality vision care.

What You’ll Do

Perform comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments

Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions within your scope

Prescribe corrective lenses and provide treatment recommendations

Collaborate with clinic staff as part of an integrated care team

Deliver patient-centered care in a structured outpatient setting

What Makes This Different

This is not a high-volume retail model.

Our optometrists are integrated into established clinic environments and represent CMC directly within each partner location. We emphasize:

Quality over volume

Consistency and predictability

Administrative and logistical support

Long-term clinic partnerships

Ethical, mission-driven healthcare delivery

Qualifications

Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program

Active New Mexico optometry license

Experience with senior populations preferred

Strong clinical judgment and communication skills

Comfortable practicing in outpatient clinic environments

Willingness to travel up to 4 hours to assigned clinics

Schedule

2–6 weekdays per month (Wednesday–Friday)

Typical hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

No nights

No weekends

No billing or administrative responsibilities
