INTERNAL POSTING: COORDINATOR OF THE DISTRICT MENTORING PROGRAM Stipend Position | 2026–2027 School Year Marion P. Thomas Charter School seeks a Coordinator of the Mentoring Program for the 2026–2027 school year. The Coordinator will develop and facilitate a yearlong professional learning and support program for MPTCS mentors and mentees throughout their first year.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The Coordinator of the Mentoring Program will: Develop a yearlong mentoring professional learning calendar for mentors and mentees. Create and facilitate monthly workshops for mentees focused on topics relevant to the needs and experiences of novice teachers. Create and facilitate mentor workshops approximately every other month focused on strengthening mentors' skills in coaching, communication, feedback, relationship-building, and supporting novice educators.

Develop workshop agendas, presentations, activities, resources, and supporting materials for each session. Provide separate learning experiences for mentors and mentees so that each group has opportunities , and needs specific to their role. Design workshops that are interactive, practical, and responsive to issues educators encounter throughout the school year.

Establish opportunities for mentors and mentees to share strategies, discuss challenges, problem-solve, and learn from one another. Gather participant feedback and use the feedback to inform future workshops and program supports. Communicate workshop schedules, expectations, resources, and follow-up information to participants.

Collaborate with Human Resources to identify professional learning priorities and emerging needs among mentors and mentees. Maintain attendance and documentation of professional learning activities. Provide Human Resources with periodic updates regarding participation, program implementation, and identified areas where additional support may be beneficial.

Maintain confidentiality regarding individual mentor and mentee discussions and concerns. Perform other duties directly related to the mentoring professional learning program as assigned. PROFESSIONAL LEARNING SERIES The Coordinator will develop the mentoring series content in collaboration with Human Resources. Topics may include, but are not limited to: Mentee Workshops Successfully Navigating Your First Year at MPTCS Classroom Culture and Management Building Relationships With Students and Families Understanding Professional Expectations and Responsibilities Planning, Instruction, and Using Feedback Managing Stress, Time, and Workload Preparing for Observations and Evaluations Reflecting on the First Year and Planning for Year Two Mentor Workshops The Role of an Effective Mentor Building Trust and Psychological Safety Coaching Versus Telling: Supporting Without Taking Over Providing Meaningful and Actionable Feedback Navigating Difficult Conversations Recognizing When a Mentee Needs Additional Support Reflecting on Mentor Effectiveness and Strengthening the Mentoring Relationship QUALIFICATIONS Candidates should: Hold an appropriate New Jersey educational certificate.

Have demonstrated experience supporting, coaching, mentoring, or developing other educators. Demonstrate strong presentation and group facilitation skills. Be able to develop engaging professional learning experiences for adult learners. Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrate the ability to establish positive and supportive professional relationships.

Be comfortable facilitating discussions involving professional challenges and problem-solving. Have experience as a mentor, teacher leader, instructional coach, supervisor, or professional development facilitator preferred. EXPECTED DELIVERABLES The Coordinator will be expected to: Develop and submit a yearlong Mentor/Mentee Professional Learning Calendar.

Facilitate monthly mentee professional learning sessions . Facilitate mentor professional learning sessions approximately every other month . Develop original or appropriately adapted presentations, activities, handouts, and resources for each session. Maintain attendance records for all sessions. Collect participant feedback periodically throughout the year.

Meet periodically with Human Resources to review program implementation, participant needs, and upcoming professional learning topics. Provide a brief end-of-year summary of the mentoring professional learning program, including participation, topics addressed, participant feedback, and recommendations for the following school year.

TERM 2026–2027 School Year This is a stipend position performed in addition to the employee's regular contractual responsibilities. Workshops, preparation, communication, and related activities may occur outside of the employee's regular workday. STIPEND The stipend will be communicated prior to final appointment.
