Job Description: Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Lead Mechanic to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office.
Responsibilities include
performing installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects at BWI and Martin State Airports as well as other MES operated facilities throughout the state. This field office is a designated 24/7 emergency essential facility. Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required.
Estimated Pay Range: $63,816.48 - $87,753.12 Benefits: Health Insurance with choice of medical plan and prescription, dental, vision, and life and disability insurance options, along with flexible spending accounts 401K retirement savings program with generous agency match Paid vacation, personal and sick leave Eleven paid holidays per year Tuition assistance Minimum Requirements: Graduation from high school diploma or possession of a GED equivalency certificate plus seven (7) years of experience performing installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
Note: Formal training from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field of study may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis for up to three (3) years of the required experience. Applicants must have the ability to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance. The position will require the ability to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds.
Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points. This position will be open until filled. Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screens, to include full background check, drug & alcohol screening, and position appropriate physical.
