Summary The IT & Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, configuration, documentation, security, and reliable operation of the technology and connected systems that keep our businesses running. This is a hands-on, self-directed role that blends traditional IT with on-site infrastructure, light automation, and operational technology (OT) across all sites. This role reports to the General Manager. Key Results Area #1 – Design and Implement Design or select technology systems (network, firewalls, Wi-Fi, servers, endpoints, phones, printers, security/access control, building controls, etc.) that support operations across all sites Identify current and future needs and coordinate design with Leadership Plan and execute network and connectivity projects (firewall/Sonic. Wall, Uni. Fi/UISP managed Wi-Fi, Starlink, ISP/demarc/antenna cutovers, redundancy) Stand up and manage cloud identity and devices (Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, MFA, shared-device authentication) Upgrade and repurpose equipment throughout company sites Key Results Area #2 – Support and Train Educate and train employees on new and current equipment, software, and procedures, including more secure computer use Onboard and offboard employees across all entities (accounts, devices, permissions, equipment) Run security-awareness training and phishing-simulation campaigns (e.g., Know. Be4) Troubleshoot and repair systems (network, endpoint, application, server, controls) and resolve employee equipment and access issues promptly Key Results Area #3 – Maintain, Secure, and Document Monitor performance and health of all technology and connected systems; maintain and verify backups, server health, and uptime Maintain operational technology and building/site systems — building automation/HVAC controls (e.g., Siemens Desigo), environmental and life-safety monitoring (Sensaphone, First Alert), access control (Remote. Lock, UID Enterprise), solar monitoring (Fronius/Sunny) Direct and perform basic low-voltage and sensor work; troubleshoot voltages and connected devices on site Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime; replace failing or expired equipment before it fails Enforce security policies, MFA, and least-privilege access; maintain records, asset inventories, and consistent status reporting for Leadership Knowledge, Skills, and Experience (Target Competence) We want a versatile technologist who can operate at or above the level of a seasoned managed-services technician — equally comfortable in a firewall console, a Microsoft 365 admin center, and a mechanical room. Strong candidates bring most of: Networking (Sonic. Wall or equivalent, VLANs/SSIDs, Uni. Fi/UISP, ISP/demarc cutovers, basic routing/redundancy) Microsoft 365 / cloud identity (Entra ID, Intune, MFA, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, licensing) Endpoints and support (Windows admin, imaging/onboarding, printers, QuickBooks/PDF/Dropbox and other business apps) Servers and backups (file/on-prem servers, NAS such as Synology, backup verification; VMs a plus) Security (MFA, Know. Be4 or similar, policy enforcement, secure media disposal) Operational technology (building/HVAC controls such as Siemens Desigo, Sensaphone, First Alert, Remote. Lock, solar monitoring) — or strong aptitude to learn Hands-on aptitude (low-voltage wiring, sensor replacement, mounting/installs, basic electrical troubleshooting) Automation/development a plus (Power Automate/Forms, scripting, or willingness to build simple internal tools) Clear written documentation and a consistent reporting cadence Dependable, honest, service-minded, and able to prioritize independently across multiple businesses and sites Agriculture or operations experience is helpful but not required; the ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly matters more. This is a hybrid role with minimum 50% on-site.
Compensation
is heavily dependent on relevant skills and experience.
