📝 Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Pharmacy Technician (Clinical Trials), you will:
- Support the day‑to‑day running of the Clinical Trials Pharmacy service
- Work alongside Senior Clinical Trials Technicians to ensure safe and compliant handling of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs)
- Assist in developing trial processes aligned with Trust strategies and study requirements
- Ensure all trial activity follows legislation, GCP, and local governance procedures
- Coordinate staffing within the trials area and contribute to workforce planning
- Promote strong teamworking across the Clinical Trials Pharmacy team
- Support training, competency assessments, and development of technical staff
- Maintain safe systems of work including COSHH, infection control, and statutory standards
📍 Location
Oxford Road Campus – Manchester Royal Infirmary (MFT)
💼 Working Hours
37.5 hours per week Full‑time, Monday–Friday (on‑site)
🎓 Qualifications & Experience Required
Essential:
- BTEC/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Science
- GPhC‑registered Pharmacy Technician
- Accuracy Checking Technician qualification (ACT Level 4)
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Clinical Trials Pharmacy experience – full training will be provided
Important: ❌ Aseptic experience alone will NOT be accepted as a substitute for the technical and regulatory requirements of clinical trials.
