This role supports real industrial work — hydraulic cylinders, rods, pistons, glands, precision machining, repair machining, and rework. The shop is known for tackling large, high-stakes hydraulic components and quality-driven work. What You’ll Be Doing Set up and operate manual engine lathes and manual mills (Bridgeport-style) Machine and repair hydraulic cylinder components (rods, pistons, glands, sleeves, etc.) Measure and hold tolerances using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges Read and work from prints, sketches, and dimensions Perform repair-style machining: fit-up, rework, salvage, and precision correction Maintain clean, safe work habits in a production/repair environment Requirements Requirements Manual machining experience required (lathe + mill) Strong measuring skills and tolerance awareness Ability to read prints / interpret dimensions Mechanical mindset (repair work, not just repetitive parts) Reliable attendance (the team depends on you) Driver’s license + reliable transportation Preferred (Not Required) Experience with hydraulic cylinder repair/remanufacturing Experience machining large parts / heavy industrial components Background in shops doing repair work, not just production runs This Job Is NOT For You If: You only want CNC button-pushing You struggle with measuring, setups, or holding tolerances You bounce around jobs or call off constantly Benefits Medical Benefits 401(k) Paid Time Off If you’re a Manual Machinist in York, PA looking for a stable, permanent, year-round role where your skills actually matter, apply today to Murphy’s Family Staffing.
