Position Overview

We are looking for a mid-level Data Engineer to join the data team of a growth equity firm. You will work in a large, production dbt project on Snowflake that powers firm-wide analytics and investment decisions. The project brings together CRM, market intelligence, and proprietary data sources, and it includes AI-powered models for entity tagging.

This is an execution-focused role: a senior engineer scopes the work, and you build, test, and maintain models. As you learn the codebase, you can take on more ownership.

What You Will Do

Build and maintain staging and intermediate dbt models in a medallion architecture (600+ staging views, 160+ intermediate models, 120+ marts) Implement entity resolution logic (ID and bridge tables for companies, contacts, and deals) from designs set by senior engineers Implement and maintain AI-powered tagging models using Snowflake Cortex, and flag quality issues for review Write tests for every model you touch: schema validation, row counts, nullability, and uniqueness Maintain source-system bridges and lookup tables, and adapt models when upstream systems change Keep source YAML documentation current, including lineage, freshness expectations, and schema notes Monitor dbt Cloud jobs, debug failed runs, and investigate data inconsistencies, escalating when needed Submit clean, well-documented pull requests for senior review What You Bring 2–4 years of data engineering experience in a production environment Solid SQL: multi-stage CTEs, window functions, and well-optimized queries Working knowledge of dbt: models, tests, sources, and basic macros Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse (Big.
