STEAM Instructor (Sep-Dec 2024) - All Parishes

STEAMHouse is an education hub dedicated to preparing future-ready Jamaicans for the world of work. Join us as we go full STEAM Ahead in providing hands-on learning opportunities for our brightest young minds. With the assistance of a senior instructor, the ideal candidate will create a fail-safe environment where learners are free to explore, make mistakes while engaging in inquiry-based learning-all designed to promote creative problem solving and technology skills.

Instructors will be provided with guidance on implementing a term-long immersive experience. Also provided are the curriculum, all materials and step-by-step instructions on conducting course experience. Group sizes range from from 12 to 30 learners.

The ideal instructors are:

• Strong community involvement
• Flexible, enthusiastic and creative
• Comfortable managing learners in a semi-structured environment
• Experienced in 3D modeling, engineering, making or programming
• Undergrad or recent graduates of teacher's college or STEAM degrees

As an instructor, you would be required to:

• Complete online Instructor Orientation
• Review all modules of technical activities in assigned curricula
• Assist non-technical instructors
• Promote programmes via social media and within local community
• Maintain a sense of fun with a balance of discipline
• Distribute materials to learners for use during course
• Complete online Instructor survey at the end of the course
• Be an ambassador of STEAM learning and innovation
