Port Intermodal Dispatcher

All Modal Transportation is looking to fill a position for an experienced and energetic Fleet Dispatcher/Transportation Manager to support our year-round operations. All Modal is a Drayage & Intermodal Trucking company servicing the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and the rails roads. The position is responsible for managing the daily operations of our drivers and company-owned trucks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing operation of steady routes; dispatching and scheduling appointments with terminals, pick-ups, and drop-offs
• Responsible for managing a local fleet of Drivers
• Complete oversight of our drivers and daily terminal operations
• Working closely with the Office Manager in regard to the qualification, hiring, training, and retention of drivers
• Knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and the ability to operate in compliance with these regulations as well as within company guidelines
• Managing routine and non-routine maintenance for all the trucks and coordinating such repairs with various shops in the area
• Handling roadside assistance needs and developing a cost-effective way to minimize on-the-road tire changes and repairs
• Monitoring budget and operational metrics while diagnosing and improving processes and procedures to ultimately improve performance and profitability
• Other duties as required Qualifications/ Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years of port - drayage dispatching experience and operations in the trucking industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability
• Ability to multi-task various functions simultaneously
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Have strong attention to detail
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule and long hours
• Strong computer skills – good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook
• Professional driving experience is a plus
