Purpose:

Parrish DeVaughn seeks a full-time Resource Specialist who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting personal injury attorneys and helping clients navigate the legal system. The primary purpose of this role is to set up client files quickly and efficiently, obtain medical records and other records for client files, and ensure the best legal services possible are provided for the benefit of the client and growth of the firm. The role will be based in our Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Request itemized medical bills and explanations of benefits from medical providers and insurance carriers.
  • Review medical billing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Record medical charges and insurance-related activity within the firm's case-management system.
  • Enter payments, insurance adjustments, contractual adjustments, write-offs, and other financial transactions.
  • Manage medical-record and billing requests from the initial submission through final receipt.
  • Monitor outstanding requests and follow up on missing or delayed records and billing information.
  • Communicate with medical providers, insurance carriers, and retrieval vendors regarding outstanding or incomplete requests.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and case records.
  • Identify missing, inaccurate, duplicate, or inconsistent billing information.
  • Research and address discrepancies involving medical bills, insurance payments, and account balances.
  • Support the accurate collection, review, processing, and documentation of medical billing and insurance information associated with client matters.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Records Retrieval preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
