The Role Sr Technical Support Engineer – Subsurface Science & Engineering (SSE) Aspen. Tech is looking for talented Technical Support Engineers to join our team, specializing in Subsurface Science & Engineering (SSE) solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, providing world-class customer support, training, and expertise in implementing Aspen.
Tech solutions for geoscience and upstream workflows. Your Impact Key Responsibilities: Provide expert technical support for Aspen. Tech’s SSE solutions, troubleshooting complex geoscience-related technical issues. Deliver high-quality training classes on Aspen. Tech’s subsurface products, ensuring customers understand and maximize their use of the software for geoscience and upstream workflows.
Collaborate with customers to optimize their geoscience workflows, improving business outcomes using Aspen. Tech’s SSE tools. Assist in pre-sales consultations, identifying prospects’ business challenges and positioning Aspen. Tech products as the ideal solution for geoscience applications. Engage with internal R&D teams, offering insights and feedback to drive product improvements.
Conduct pre-release software testing and contribute to the development of training materials and white papers for the knowledge base. Travel to customer sites as needed, typically less than 25%.
What You'll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience-related disciplines such as Geology, Geophysics, Petrophysics, or Petroleum Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience . A Master's degree is a plus. Strong knowledge of geoscience workflows and subsurface modeling techniques, with experience in upstream workflows.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a customer-first mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Aspen. Tech products or similar advanced software from other vendors is a plus. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with New or Renewable Energy workflows, such as Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and Geothermal, is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to building lasting customer relationships.
Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements, including international travel (less than 25%). Candidates with similar skills or experiences may be considered and training may be offered where needed.
