Make a Real Difference: Part-Time Dental Assistant (20 Hrs/Wk) Join AHCH to deliver compassionate, holistic dental care where it is needed most. This role splits time between our clinic and field outreach using a harm-reduction model. Deep empathy for unhoused populations is a must. Bonus: Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless (AHCH) offers a unique opportunity where we may cover Dental Assistant Training costs for interested candidates in exchange for a 2-year employment commitment , with a prorated arrangement if the commitment is not fulfilled.
We comply with all OSHA and CDC guidelines regarding PPE and have various procedures in place to safeguard employees. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
Minimum Qualifications
Background in customer service or dental (MA, CNA, DA, etc) High School Diploma or GED Flexibility to work with multiple providers Ability to thrive in a complex healthcare setting Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited dental assistant program with current X-ray certification Experience working with underserved populations or people experiencing homelessness Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma informed philosophies Bilingual or Spanish Speaking All benefits begin the month after hire: Low cost medical, vision, and dental insurance with health club membership Life insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment fully paid for by organization Long Term Disability fully paid for by organization Paid Time Off - 24 days in first year of employment Catastrophic Sick Time accrual 7 Paid holidays Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts 401k with employer match Student loan forgiveness eligible We're an equal opportunity employer.
