Vascular Sonographer Inpatient Registered performs non-invasive vascular exams to assess for vascular disease or disorders under the supervision of the vascular sonography supervisor. All examinations are performed within standard protocols. The sonographer delivers excellent customer service to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients/families and colleagues, including all internal and external customers.
Essential Job Function: Performs vascular ultrasound examinations for accurate assessments to aid in the identification of vascular conditions and supports patient treatment planning. Analyzes test data, identifying abnormalities and relaying findings clearly to medical professionals in both verbal and written formats to contribute to informed medical decisions for vascular conditions and patient well-being.
Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and promptly reporting any technical issues to facilitate continuous patient care. Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, participating in discussions about patient cases, sharing insights, and contributing to comprehensive care plans.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience: Required: 0-1 years in Healthcare; Ultrasound Training Program. Licensure/Certification/Listing: Required: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from ARDMS or Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) from CCI or Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography (RT-VS) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); BLS (CPR) American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare provider.
