Organization: PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation MPD Position Overview: Maintains scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures for assigned department(s). Breast Surgical Oncology (General Surgery) and cross-trained for covering in other specialty surgery scheduling as needed.

Coordinates surgical services with physicians' offices and other related departments, and may be required to verify room and equipment availability. Responsible for documentation of patients' procedures and physician information; logs the completed procedures; and may generate a surgical procedure charge sheet. Performs additional duties as requested by the manager while ensuring the accuracy of the schedule.

The person in this Surgery Scheduler III position will also be cross-trained in Plastic Surgery scheduling, as some cases will require coordination between both specialties. They will also float and support Plastic Surgery scheduling, as needed. Job Description : EDUCATION: HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 2 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Organizational and multi-tasking skills. Intermediate computer skills to include keyboarding, mouse movement, data entry and scheduling programs. Verbal/written communication skills for frequent and challenging contact with physicians, employees, patients and patient families; requires patience and compassion.

Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in order to complete assignments within the time allotted and maintain standard workflow. Ability to work with others in a flexible and cooperative manner. Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions. Active listening skills; including interpersonal skills and telephone communication.

Ability to handle multiple procedures and interruptions throughout the day. Job Shift: Days Schedule: Full Time Shift Hours: 8 Days of the Week: Monday

Pay Range

is $33.52 to $46.92 / hour The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
