Founding Product Engineer A fantastic opportunity for a Product Engineer to join an early-stage, venture-backed AI software company in New York. Building intelligent software that simplifies complex financial workflows, they are looking for a full-stack engineer with strong frontend skills and an eye for great user experience.

As their first dedicated Product Engineer, you will work directly with the founders and customers, helping shape the product from initial ideas and prototypes through to production. Location: New York, NY. In-office, 4–5 days per week. Salary: $200,000–$250,000 annual base salary + equity Requirements for Founding Product Engineer: Strong professional experience building and shipping full-stack software within an early-stage, venture-backed startup Current hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript Strong frontend engineering skills, alongside the ability to develop backend functionality Excellent UI/UX judgment, demonstrated through shipped products, a portfolio or a personal website Experience as a design engineer or working within a startup with a strong product and design culture Comfortable speaking directly with customers, understanding their workflows and translating feedback into product improvements Ability to own features from initial concept and prototype through to production release Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize effectively within a fast-moving startup Able to work from the New York office 4–5 days per week Experience in any of the following is beneficial: founding engineering, product management, AI-powered B2B software, fintech, accounting, insurance, legal technology or compliance Responsibilities for Founding Product Engineer: Build across frontend, backend and AI functionality, creating intuitive software for complex business workflows Work directly with founders and customers to identify problems and help decide what to build next Design and prototype user journeys, interfaces and product features Develop architecture and data models, deciding where conventional software, AI workflows or autonomous agents best solve each problem Take ownership of features throughout development, release and ongoing improvement Write clear product requirements and validate the technical feasibility of proposed solutions Use customer feedback and product usage to improve usability, reliability and performance Explore AI development tools and turn effective approaches into repeatable team practices What this role offers: The opportunity to shape an AI software product as the first dedicated Product Engineer, working directly with the founders Broad ownership across full-stack development, user experience and AI workflows, with direct access to customers A competitive base salary and equity opportunity within an early-stage, venture-backed business Applications: If you would like to apply for this unique Product Engineering role, please submit your resume through the relevant application link!
