Up to $2,000 Sign on Bonus Baptist Medical Center is currently looking to add a Speech Language Pathologist to our Acute Care Rehab Team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a PRN opportunity at Baptist Medical Center in downtown Jacksonville, FL.

This is a PRN opportunity working in an acute care, inpatient hospital setting. The ideal candidate would be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and holiday rotations and has had at least 2 years of previous experience working in acute care settings, including experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies.

Job Responsibilities

Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses. Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions/dysfunctions such as neurological (stroke, seizures, movement disorders, Guillain barre), respiratory, and general medical conditions which impact swallowing, speech, language or cognitive-communication skills.

Provides extensive patient/family education. Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc. Works in a fast-paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self-directed, and effective communication skills.

Experience Requirements: 1 or more year(s) of Acute Care Speech Language Pathology Experience strongly preferred Speech/Language Experience Voice Experience Neuro Experience Education & Credential Requirements: Master of Science Or Master of Arts Required Licensed Speech Language Pathologist Required ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Required from the American Heart Association Required Baptist Jacksonville is a Magnet™ designated hospital, the gold standard for excellence in patient care.
