Job description
We are hiring for: Licensed Practical Nurse (IDD LPN)
- Traveler $35 Type: Temporary If you are a positive and personable individual looking for a satisfying and fun opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with intellectual, developmental disabilities, and people facing mental health, and substance use challenges, join our team at RHA Health Services! Location: East Tennessee Region Employment Type: Full-time, Part-time, PRN (as needed) options available Compensation: $35/hr+ (based on credentials and experience) Incentives: No sign-on bonus available. No relocation packaged offered. Schedule: Varies 12 hours or 8 hours Highlights Travel Float Nurse positions are temporary. Hours are not guaranteed and are based on the staffing needs of assigned homes and locations. Enjoy flexible scheduling with part-time, full-time, and as-needed opportunities. Float Nurses provide coverage across multiple group homes, with travel expenses reimbursed as applicable. Unlike a hospital or skilled nursing facility where nurses may care for a large number of patients during a shift, our nurses support individuals in community-based group homes with smaller caseloads—typically up to six residents per home . This allows nurses to provide more personalized, relationship-centered care, become familiar with each individual's unique needs, and work in a calmer, home-like environment. As a Float Nurse, you will collaborate with Direct Support Professionals and interdisciplinary team members to assess residents, coordinate care, oversee medication management, and help individuals maintain their health while living as independently as possible in their community. The role offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact without the fast-paced demands often associated with hospital or SNF settings. Position Requirements Graduate of an accredited licensed nursing program. Current unrestricted nursing license. Minimum of one year of nursing experience. Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, the people supported, and their families. Ability to work independently, stay organized, and effectively prioritize responsibilities. Current CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification. Maintain all required nursing licensure, certifications, and CPR certification. Complete all required RHA and site-specific annual competencies by established deadlines, with documentation maintained in Workday. Continued eligibility for the Float Nurse program is reviewed monthly.
