Job description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Service Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing service and repair, a strong work ethic, and the ability to provide high-quality service to our customers. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining plumbing systems while ensuring all work meets local codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment (water, gas, drainage, and waste systems). Troubleshoot plumbing issues, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions. Repair or replace water heaters, fixtures, faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, sump pumps, and other plumbing components.
Perform service calls, inspections, and preventative maintenance for residential and commercial customers. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications when necessary. Ensure compliance with state and local plumbing, building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Provide accurate estimates and explain repair options to customers.
Collaborate with contractors, builders, and other trades when necessary. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients. Train or guide apprentices when needed. Identify potential plumbing issues and recommend preventative maintenance solutions.
Qualifications
Valid Journeyman Plumber license (preferred but not needed). Minimum of 5 years of experience in the plumbing trade. Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and service techniques. Experience in diagnosing and repairing residential and commercial plumbing systems. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
Physical ability to perform plumbing tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Skills
Gas piping experience. Water heater installation and repair experience. Remodel experience. Drain cleaning and sewer diagnostic experience. Prior experience in both residential and commercial service plumbing. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Experience with leak detection, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.
