Position Summary
BYU–Idaho is preparing to offer the online Applied Business Management degree in Spanish through BYU–Pathway Worldwide. We are seeking business faculty with fluent Spanish and English language skills to help support the translation, delivery, and oversight of this program. This faculty member will play a key role in ensuring the quality and success of the Spanish-language Applied Business Management degree and the educational experience of Spanish-speaking students worldwide.
Primary responsibilities for this position include: Developing and improving curriculum for the Applied Business Management degree program. Teaching online business management courses in Spanish and English. Overseeing translation of courses from English into Spanish. Providing academic leadership for Spanish-speaking instructors and graders, including hiring, training, mentoring, and supervision.
Throughout their careers, all BYU–Idaho faculty are expected to actively pursue professional development opportunities in learning and teaching and ongoing scholarly development within their discipline. They also may be asked to serve in administrative roles. Candidates should have subject matter expertise or professional experience in one of the following areas: management, sales, marketing, entrepreneurship, accounting, finance, or other business experience.
Strong writing and speaking skills in both Spanish and English are required. A master’s degree in business administration or related fields is required. University-level teaching, online teaching, curriculum development experience, or a minimum of five years of professional work experience is preferred. Work Schedule and Location Full-time faculty members complete 36 load hours of work annually, across Fall, Winter, and Spring Semesters; this total includes up to 6 load hours of professional development.
Semesters last approximately 14 weeks, and faculty attend meetings and complete work in the days preceding and following each semester. Annual faculty contracts cover 47.5 weeks. Teaching assignments, course development, and other administrative responsibilities are assigned by the Online Program Director or Dean of Online Programs.
