As a technician apprentice, you'll learn practical skills and knowledge under the guidacne of a skilled mentor, engaging in on-the-job training and related instruction to become a proficient technician.
Job Responsibilities
Work alongside experienced technicians, learning from them and gaining hands-on experience Follow the guidance and instructions of your supervisor and mentor Assist with various tasks, including preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and making repairs Learn to use diagnostic tools and other equipment to test and repair systems and components Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, or assisting with more complex repairs Document your work and maintain records of maintenance and repairs Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies Comply with local, state, and federal polices and regulations Job Qualifications: Enrolled into, and currently attending, a high school or post-high school trade program, with a focus on Diesel Mechanics Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Ability to follow procedures and directions from mentor Efficient problem solving skills Attention to detail Physical ability to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods of time.
