Position Summary

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join a local medical practice. The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in providing excellent customer service while supporting daily office operations. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Essential Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately. Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments. Verify patient information and update records accurately. Check patients in and out for appointments. Collect copays and process payments as needed.

Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations. Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and staff. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, emails, and faxes. Assist with filing, scanning, and other administrative duties.

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Previous receptionist, customer service, administrative, or medical office experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and office equipment. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Insurance verification and patient scheduling experience. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment throughout the workday.

Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
