Position Summary
Novel. Aire is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support on-site production of advanced HVAC and dehumidification systems at its Baton Rouge, Louisiana manufacturing facility. This hands-on role focuses on improving manufacturing processes for electromechanical, thermal, and refrigerant-based systems while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Product Engineering to drive continuous improvement across Novel. Aire’s manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize on-site manufacturing processes for HVAC, dehumidification, and thermal transfer systems.
- Provide daily production-floor support by troubleshooting assembly, test, and performance issues related to mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems.
- Collaborate closely with design engineering to ensure products are designed for manufacturability, serviceability, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, bills of materials, routings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Specify, qualify, and support production equipment, tooling, and test fixtures used at the Baton Rouge facility.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality, yield, cost, and delivery performance.
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience in an on-site production environment.
- Hands-on experience supporting electromechanical assemblies and HVAC-related production processes.
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Ability and willingness to work on-site in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HVAC systems, dehumidification equipment, thermal transfer, or refrigeration cycles.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, wiring, controls, and thermal components.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification. Core Competencies
