We are currently looking for curious and engaged students to join Q-Free as summer interns at our headquarters in Trondheim in 2027. Maybe this could be the perfect opportunity for you? Q-Free is increasing our efforts to bring interns into the company, as this represents a sustainable long-term strategy for recruitment. In addition to offering summer internships, we have students working part-time with us alongside their studies, as well as students writing their bachelor and master thesis with us. This gives great benefits both for Q-Free and for our interns.

Your role

with us in our Tolling Systems Development department The Tolling Systems Development department works with developing software for our customers or for the other departments in Q-Free. The tasks in the system group are very varied and can range from integrating and calibrating new sensors, creating new applications and large real-time solutions, or using AI to solve challenging tasks.

In the Systems group we work with several different technologies and programming languages like Java, C++, Python, image processing, signal processing, AI, and sensor system integration. Some of the work we do in our Tolling Systems Development department: Software development: Design, develop, and maintain software running on the lane controllers and roadside systems System integration: Integrate roadside applications with sensor/equipment such as our tolling cameras, lasers, and DSRC readers Research and development System monitoring Maintenance and support We are looking for candidates with an interest in one or more of the following fields: Computer Vision and Image Processing Deep Learning Py.

Torch and/or Tensor. Flow MLOps and Model Deployment Cloud AI Platforms What do we have to offer? The workplace is our headquarters in Trondheim. Q-Free is part of a collaborative project in Trondheim called Workation. Workation offers a unique summer program, and all summer interns who join Q-Free in 2027 will have full and free access to these activities. Last summer, our summer interns were free to join activities such as volleyball and padel, kayaking, beer tasting, and more. Workation also offers a great arena to meet summer interns working for other companies and make new friends.
