Job description

Imagine being part of a team that’s redefining the future of mobility—where your ideas don’t just sit in a lab but power next-generation technology. At indie, we are developing cutting-edge semiconductors, photonics, and radar sensors and systems for automotive, industrial, and adjacent markets. Our innovations are at the heart of advanced intelligent sensing and user experience applications, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

If you're passionate about groundbreaking technology and want to make a real impact alongside a fast-paced team that thrives on creativity and collaboration, we’d love to have you on board!

We are seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer** to design and integrate advanced RF/mmWave IP and ICs for high-frequency radar applications. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to complex product developments, and help bring innovative solutions to market. The ideal candidate has strong experience in mmWave IC design and enjoys solving complex technical challenges in a growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities**

Design and develop integrated high-frequency RF/mmWave circuits for radar applications

Develop and optimize circuits operating in the 24 GHz, 60 GHz, 77 GHz, and up to 120 GHz frequency ranges

Design and integrate RF/mmWave IPs and ICs for advanced radar systems

Perform system- and transistor-level design, simulation, and verification

Collaborate with system architects, layout engineers, and validation teams to ensure performance and manufacturability

Support lab validation, silicon bring-up, and performance characterization

Contribute to design reviews and technical problem-solving across teams

Required Qualifications**

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field with 4+ years of industry experience in RF/mmWave IC design (or PhD with relevant experience)

Strong theoretical and practical expertise in silicon-based RF IC design, particularly at frequencies above 50 GHz

Experience designing mmWave circuits such as LNAs, PAs, phase rotators, splitters/combiners, and frequency multipliers

Proficiency in analog/RF simulation, layout, and verification tools (Cadence suite, EMX or similar)

Solid understanding of semiconductor technologies and fabrication processes

Experience with CMOS or BiCMOS technologies

Hands-on experience with RF measurement and characterization using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators

Nice to Have**

Experience with automotive radar or ADAS applications

Familiarity with automotive standards (e.g., ISO 26262 functional safety concepts)

Experience with full tape-out cycles and post-silicon bring-up/debug

Knowledge of mmWave packaging effects and parasitic modeling

Exposure to antenna-in-package or antenna-on-chip designs

Scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar) for automation or data analysis

Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small technical efforts

Strong documentation and communication skills in a cross-site or global team environment
