McFarland Clinic has an opening for an energetic an Ophthalmic Assistant for its Ames Eye Care Center.  The candidate is expected to be a team player, willing to learn basic ophthalmic techniques as well as the working of advanced ophthalmic equipment. 

Responsibilities include

Prepares patients for exams or treatments, takes visual acuity and performs basic screening tests. Takes brief history and other medical information needed. Administers necessary medications, orders lab and x-ray procedures. Performs other such duties as directed by the provider. Sets up and assists with minor surgery and laser surgery.
