Job description
Job Description The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all parts and assemblies of oilfield drilling and completion tools produced or maintained in the workshop meet the required quality and technical standards. The role involves inspecting mechanical parts and assemblies, interpreting engineering drawings, and verifying product conformity using precision measurement tools.
The Quality Inspector supports workshop operations by identifying non-conformities, assisting in root cause analysis, and collaborating with production and engineering teams to ensure continuous quality improvement and compliance with company and client requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
1.Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and inspection standards. 2.Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of drilling and completion tools, components, and assemblies. 3.Conduct visual inspections to identify defects, wear, corrosion, or other quality concerns. 4.Use precision measuring tools (e.
g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, and thread measurement devices) to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances. 5.Record, document, and report inspection findings, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action requests. 6.Assist in the analysis of defects and failures to support root cause investigation and corrective actions.
7.Ensure all inspection activities comply with company QA/QC procedures, safety standards, and customer specifications. 8.Support calibration management and ensure all inspection instruments are properly maintained and traceable. 9.Participate in internal and external audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
& Requirements 1.Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related technical field. 2.Minimum 5 years of QA/QC or inspection experience in the mechanical manufacturing of oilfield drilling and completion tools. 3.Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly procedures, and engineering standards.
4.Familiar with API, ISO, and industry quality requirements for drilling and completion tools. 5.Proficient in using precision measuring instruments. 6.Basic understanding of machining and mechanical assembly processes. 7.Good communication and teamwork skills, with strong attention to detail. 8.Proficient in English (spoken and written) and in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
