Highway Maintenance Worker II: Heavy Equipment Operator

Operates and maintains excavator with specialized tree cutting attachment throughout the district.  Extension tree removal and munching utilizing a 25 ton excavator on uneven, wet and sloped terrain with a 3 ton fix tooth cutting head capable of cutting any size tree.  Operates excavator adjacent to live traffic on interstates and primary and secondary routes.

Loads and operates semi-truck/tractor-trailer transporting wide load motorized equipment. Conducts safety inspections (preventive maintenance) on all assigned vehicles and equipment.
