Job Description Job Summary The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) provides direct patient care and support under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for inpatient services. This role focuses on assisting patients with activities of daily living, maintaining unit readiness, and contributing to a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned. Consistently demonstrates caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families. Assists with the planning and provision of structured, age-appropriate activities for patients under the guidance or direction of a Child Life Therapist.
Monitors children’s activities and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment for children. Required Qualifications Current Certified Nursing Assistant Certification Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and assessment skills necessary to communicate, educate, and provide a therapeutic and safe environment for the specific developmental age groups served between birth and 21 years of age Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to assure completion of patient care activities Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in pediatrics/orthopedics Bilingual English/Spanish Two years of hospital experience The pay range for this position is $19.97 - $29.95.
Compensation
is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
