Position Summary** We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Part-Time Optometrist** to join our mobile care team in Landover, MD**. This role is ideal for an optometrist looking for consistent, predictable work while making a meaningful impact in senior and underserved communities.
CMC manages all equipment, supplies, scheduling, billing, and logistics. This is a 1099 independent contractor position**, allowing you to focus on patient care without the administrative demands of a traditional practice.
Key Responsibilities**
Provide comprehensive eye exams to geriatric patients in facility-based settings
Diagnose and manage ocular conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease
Prescribe corrective lenses and coordinate eyewear needs as appropriate
Educate patients and facility staff on eye health, preventive care, and treatment plans
Ensure patient comfort and safety in a mobile/facility-based care environment
Qualifications**
Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited program
Active Maryland optometry license**
Experience working with geriatric populations or in mobile care preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and adapt to varying care environments
Schedule** 1 day per week** Weekday availability Typical hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM**
