Job Summary

OMCO, a Mac. Lean-Fogg Company is hiring a Quality Engineer for our Huntsville, Alabama manufacturing operation. In this role, you will help establish and maintain quality standards, resolve product and process quality issues, support APQP and PPAP activities, and partner across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to improve quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Location: Huntsville, AL Work Arrangement: On-site Schedule: 1st Shift Pay: $85,000–$95,000 USD/year Employment Type: Full-time / Salary What You'll Do as a Quality Engineer Establish and maintain quality standards for products, processes, and systems, recommending improvements that strengthen product quality and prevent defects.

Partner with product design, product management, production, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to identify quality risks early and ensure quality requirements are met. Conduct audits of production processes, raw materials, and suppliers/vendors; document findings and recommend corrective actions when needed. Investigate product defects, nonconformities, and quality failures through root cause analysis, then work with the team to implement corrective and preventive actions.

Support compliance with formal quality standards, including ISO 9001, assist with quality audits, and stay current with applicable industry standards and regulations. Maintain accurate and timely quality documentation, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), root cause analysis reports, corrective actions, PPAP approvals, and revision records.

Participate in continuous improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and supporting problem-solving activities. Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) throughout the product lifecycle by developing and maintaining Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and FMEAs and by preparing, compiling, submitting, and tracking Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages for product launches and engineering changes.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree. 2–4 years of experience. Basic understanding of quality principles, inspection techniques, and industry standards. Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and statistical process control (SPC). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and recommend solutions that improve product quality and process efficiency.

Strong attention to detail and focus on maintaining product specifications and quality standards. Intermediate verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly document and communicate quality issues and solutions to technical and non-technical teams. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented, cross-functional environment, gather information needed for decision-making and process improvement, and continue developing knowledge of quality tools and techniques.
