Empowering ALL to learn at high-levels through systematic district and school-wide support. Three Peaks Elementary is seeking a Full Time Foundational Skills Educator. This position will remain open until filled with first consideration on October 16th, 2026. The Full Time Foundational Skills Educator works under the direction of the Director of Behavior Programs and Director of Special Education, and in collaboration with school administration and the District Board Certified Behavior Analyst, the Foundational Skills Educator supports students with significant needs in communication, socialization, regulation, behavior, and learning readiness.
The educator provides intensive early intervention using evidence-based practices, including Applied Behavior Analysis, to teach communication, classroom readiness, self-regulation, replacement behaviors, socialization, and functional/adaptive skills. Instruction is delivered through structured, individualized, and group learning opportunities designed to increase independence and appropriate interaction.
The educator collaborates with families and staff to ensure consistent implementation of supports and works to prepare students for transition to less restrictive educational settings. Collects, documents, analyzes, and utilizes student performance and behavior data to inform instruction, functional behavior assessments, behavior intervention plans, and ongoing progress monitoring.
Uses data to guide instructional decision-making, adjust student programming, and ensure instruction and interventions are responsive to student needs. Maintains accurate, timely, and compliant documentation related to student progress, behavior data, and instructional programming. Provides direct, explicit instruction to students with significant needs in communication, socialization, functional/adaptive skills, self-regulation, and learning readiness.
Designs and delivers individualized and small group instruction using evidence-based practices, including Applied Behavior Analysis, to support skill acquisition and generalization. Teaches and reinforces replacement behaviors, coping strategies, and functional communication skills to support positive behavioral outcomes.
Develops structured learning experiences that promote engagement, independence, and progress toward IEP goals. Supports students in developing appropriate classroom behaviors, emotional regulation, and learning-to-learn skills to increase access to instructional settings. Implements proactive and responsive behavior strategies to support student success across environments and transitions.
Assists students in developing independence with functional routines and daily living skills as appropriate to individual needs. Develops, implements, and monitors Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with student needs and progress data. Participates in IEP meetings, evaluations, eligibility determinations, and progress reporting, providing instructional and behavioral input.
Prepares progress reports and contributes to formal documentation required for compliance and student programming. Collaborates with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and paraprofessionals to ensure consistent implementation of instructional and behavioral supports. Provides training, coaching, and ongoing support to paraprofessionals to build capacity and ensure fidelity of implementation.
Communicates regularly with families to support understanding of student progress, needs, and strategies for consistency across environments. Establishes and maintains positive, professional, and supportive relationships with students to promote trust, engagement, communication, and independence. Implements classroom and behavior systems that support structured learning environments, predictability, and student success.
Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices. Adheres to all local, state, and federal special education laws, regulations, and district compliance requirements. Follows approved safety protocols and behavior support procedures in accordance with district training and guidance.
