Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 2FD Job Type: Temporary Holiday Cover Assignment Assignment Dates: 24th August 2026 – 29th August 2026 Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00pm – 7:00pm (10 hours per week) Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour (PAYE) Start Date: 24th August 2026 Job Overview We are currently recruiting for a reliable and professional Cleaning Operative to work at a commercial office facility in Newark.

This is a temporary holiday cover assignment offering part-time evening hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

General cleaning of office and communal areas Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors Dusting and wiping desks, surfaces and touch points Cleaning kitchens and welfare facilities Cleaning toilets, washrooms and replenishing consumables Emptying waste bins and disposing of waste appropriately Ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly Reporting any maintenance issues or health and safety concerns Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and presentation at all times Using the site's telephone-based time and attendance system Candidate Requirements Previous commercial cleaning experience preferred Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Comfortable working alone and taking responsibility for site security procedures Ability to act as a key holder and operate alarm systems where required Excellent attention to detail Reliable, punctual and professional approach Good communication skills Right to work in the UK Pre-Employment Requirements Successful candidates will be required to: Complete financial services and referencing checks Provide valid Right to Work documentation at induction Participate in site-specific induction and security procedures Use the mandatory telephone-based time and attendance system Desirable Experience Previous experience cleaning office or commercial environments Knowledge of COSHH and safe use of cleaning chemicals Experience of lone working and key holder responsibilities What We Offer Competitive pay rate of £13.
