Summary The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of clinical practice and in accordance with physician orders, policies, and protocols.
Additional responsibilities are required, such as maintaining proficiency with all respiratory and blood gas lab modalities and equipment, communicating with other members of the interprofessional care team, and documenting/billing for services in the electronic medical record. The RRT serves as an ambassador for the department as well as the Center by demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
