Job description
At FDJ UNITED, we don't just follow the game, we reinvent it. FDJ UNITED is one of Europe’s leading betting and gaming operators, with a vast portfolio of iconic brands and a reputation for technological excellence. With more than 5,000 employees and a presence in around fifteen regulated markets, the Group offers a diversified, responsible range of games, both under exclusive rights and open to competition.
We set new standards, proving that entertainment and safety can go hand in hand. Here, you’ll work alongside a team of passionate individuals dedicated to delivering the best and safest entertaining experiences for our customers every day. We’re looking for bold people who are eager to succeed and ready to level-up the game.
If you thrive on innovation, embrace challenges, and want to make a real impact at all levels, FDJ UNITED is your playing field. Join us in shaping the future of gaming. Are you ready to LEVEL-UP THE GAME? The Role As a Product Owner for the central web platform, you will own the product vision and backlog for a platform that powers digital experiences across all FDJ UNITED brands and web channels.
Your remit sits at the intersection of web technology, design systems, and brand expression — ensuring the platform evolves in a way that is technically sound, scalable, and visually consistent. You bring a genuine understanding of how modern web platforms are built and maintained. You are fluent in the language of frontend engineering — familiar with component-driven architecture, design tokens, accessibility standards, performance considerations, and the challenges of scaling a design system across multiple teams and brands.
You don't need to write the code, but you understand the trade-offs behind technical decisions and can engage engineers as a credible, informed partner. You are highly empowered and self-directed. You define your own priorities, build strong cross-functional relationships, and take ownership of outcomes — not just outputs.
What You Will Do
Web Platform Product Ownership Own and evolve the product vision and backlog for the central web platform, with a clear focus on scalability, performance, and developer experience. Deeply understand the platform architecture — including how components are built, versioned, consumed, and deprecated across brand and product teams.
Define clear acceptance criteria for platform capabilities, ensuring technical requirements are well understood and solutions are built to last. Identify platform gaps and technical debt that impact brand teams' ability to build consistently and efficiently across web channels, and prioritise accordingly. Work with engineering leads and architects to evaluate build-vs-buy decisions, third-party integrations, and architectural changes — providing product context to technical decisions.
Design System & Branding Act as the product owner for the design system — owning its roadmap, component backlog, and adoption strategy across teams. Understand the anatomy of a design system: design tokens, component APIs, theming layers, accessibility compliance, and the relationship between design tooling (e.g. Figma) and code implementation.
Partner with brand, design, and engineering teams to ensure the design system accurately reflects FDJ UNITED's brand guidelines and can flex to support multi-brand, web-channel requirements. Champion design system adoption by making it the path of least resistance for product teams building on the web platform. Stakeholder Collaboration & Technical Communication Translate complex technical and brand platform concepts into clear, business-friendly narratives for senior stakeholders — and equally, translate business needs into technically grounded requirements for engineering teams.
Engage closely with UX, brand, and product design teams to ensure platform capabilities enable — rather than constrain — great design outcomes across web channels. Collaborate with domain architects and engineering leads to shape the long-term platform and design system roadmap. Use data — platform usage metrics, component adoption rates, web performance analytics, and customer insights — to inform prioritisation and validate decisions.
Customer & Brand Experience Maintain a strong customer lens — understanding how platform and design system decisions ultimately affect the end user's experience across all brands and web channels. Evaluate platform capabilities and constraints through the lens of brand integrity, accessibility, and cross-device web consistency.
Stay current with emerging web standards, browser capabilities, and design system trends — bringing relevant insights back to shape the platform's direction. Ensure adherence to Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) obligations relevant to the platform, including accessibility standards and data handling requirements. Your Experience Proven experience and knowledge in web-based applications and technology.
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Product Owner. Genuine passion for web platforms and upcoming web trends. Fantastic communication and presentation skills. Creative and strategic thinker with a positive attitude. Data and evidence-driven mind-set in decision making. Excellent English speaking and writing skills. Experience from working in the online gambling industry is an advantage.
Experience from working with CX, UX, and technical stakeholders. Must thrive in a multi-tasking, fast-moving, and demanding environment. We believe talent knows no boundaries. Our hiring process focuses solely on your skills, experience, and potential to contribute to our team. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and evaluate each candidate based on merit, regardless of personal characteristics as the age, gender, origin, religion, sexual orientation, neurodiversity or disability.
