Packaging Mechanic Location: Flanders, NJ Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM-4:00 PM Compensation: $25/hour + Overtime Opportunities Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time About the Opportunity A well-established, family-owned manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Packaging Mechanic to join its maintenance team. Operating for more than 60 years, the company manufactures and packages specialty food and beverage products and is experiencing continued growth.

What You'll Do

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair packaging equipment to support daily production Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on packaging machinery Diagnose equipment issues and replace worn or damaged components Repair and maintain vertical and horizontal packaging machines Work with equipment manuals, diagrams, and maintenance documentation Monitor machine performance and address downtime issues quickly Perform light facility maintenance when needed Operate a forklift as part of maintenance and production support activities Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized electrical and welding repairs Equipment You'll Work On Matrix packaging machines Hayssen packaging machines Vertical packaging machinery Horizontal packaging machinery Multi-lane packaging equipment Tape machines and related production equipment Required Qualifications 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Experience maintaining and repairing packaging equipment Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and technical documentation Experience using hand tools and power tools safely Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently Forklift experience Compensation & Benefits $25/hour Discretionary annual bonus Medical insurance with approximately 75% employer-paid coverage HSA option available Dental and vision plans available 401(k) with company match up to 6% Paid vacation 10 days (0-4 years) 3 weeks (5-14 years) 4 weeks (15+ years) 5 paid sick days annually 10 paid holidays Long-term career growth opportunities Stable, family-owned organization
