Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: December 18, 2026 Work Set Up: Hybrid (60% Office - 40% Home) Clearance Required: BPSS Eligibility Required Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an Oracle PeopleSoft DevOps Engineer to play a critical role in modernizing and optimizing enterprise People.
Soft environments. This position combines deep technical expertise in Oracle People. Soft with modern DevOps practices, focusing on automation, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), and cloud-based delivery using Microsoft Azure DevOps. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining deployment pipelines, improving release efficiency, enhancing system stability, and transitioning legacy deployment processes to scalable, automated DevOps solutions.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to support People. Soft deployments across Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments. Replace legacy deployment processes with scalable, automated DevOps pipelines that improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability. Support and administer Oracle People.
Soft environments, including People. Tools, FSCM, HCM, and related modules. Perform environment refreshes, patching, upgrades, and system configuration activities while minimizing downtime and operational impact. Develop reusable, scalable, and secure Azure DevOps pipelines for application builds, code migrations, Data Mover scripts, Change Assistant activities, and People.
Soft Update Manager (PUM) deployments. Manage end-to-end release and deployment processes to ensure successful and timely application delivery. Coordinate deployment schedules with development, testing, infrastructure, and business teams to reduce risk and improve release outcomes. Implement and maintain version control practices using Git or Azure Repos.
Enforce best practices for code promotion, branching strategies, merging processes, and approval workflows. Monitor deployment pipelines and system performance to proactively identify and resolve issues. Investigate deployment and application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective actions.
Ensure deployment processes comply with organizational security, governance, and compliance standards. Implement secure credential management, role-based access controls, and audit-ready deployment procedures. Collaborate with functional analysts, developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to support delivery objectives.
Serve as a subject matter expert for DevOps practices within the People. Soft ecosystem. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, deployment efficiency, and operational excellence. Demonstrated experience supporting and administering Oracle People. Soft environments, including People. Tools, FSCM, HCM, or Campus Solutions.
Strong experience designing, building, and managing Azure DevOps pipelines. Proven experience creating CI/CD pipelines for enterprise applications, preferably within People. Soft environments. Experience transitioning organizations from legacy deployment tools and processes to modern DevOps frameworks. Hands-on experience with People.
Soft deployment tools, including Application Designer, Data Mover, Change Assistant, and People. Soft Update Manager (PUM). Proficiency with version control systems such as Git or Azure Repos. Experience developing automation solutions using Power. Shell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages. Strong understanding of environment management, release management, deployment processes, and system integrations.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities. Experience working with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms preferred. Familiarity with containerization technologies and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or ARM templates preferred. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps best practices preferred.
Understanding of Oracle databases, SQL, and performance tuning concepts preferred. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and complex deployment activities in fast-paced environments.
