Position Overview

TAP Engineering is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer in Fort Meade, MD to join our team. The Hardware Design Engineer supports Integrated Product Teams in the design, analysis, manufacture, and test of digital, RF/analog, and mixed electronics hardware at all levels of integration, spanning chip, component, printed circuit board, module/chassis, and system, across a multitude of platforms and domains including space, land, sea, air, and cyber.

Key Responsibilities

Design electrical components and systems, including schematic capture and routing layout for digital, RF/analog, and mixed signal printed circuit boards Perform engineering analyses Fabricate, assemble, and qualify first article engineering prototypes Develop and execute test plans and procedures Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI clearance with appropriate polygraph Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related technical field) from an accredited college or university; 5 years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree 12 years of experience as a hardware design engineer (HDE) in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design, or reverse engineering of the same, is required Experience designing printed circuit boards, including schematic capture and routing layout in computer-aided design software (e.

g., Altium) Experience developing electronics test requirements, plans, and procedures at the system and component level Strong technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or related technical field) Experience resolving electronics hardware qualification and production failures, including debugging and performing root failure analysis on failed printed circuit boards Familiarity with printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication and common electronics assembly processes Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position is $180,000–$235,000, based on relevant experience, qualifications, and other applicable factors.

The compensation range provided is a general guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Clearance Requirement This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with appropriate polygraph. Clearance processing and maintenance will be conducted in accordance with U.S. Government requirements.
